It is also known as a wiring loom for vehicles. Electric wires are tied together with the help of different components such as cable ties, electrical tapes, and conduits or a combination of these to form the complete wiring assembly.

Automotive wires are safeguarded from the impact of vibrations by the wiring harness. The harness protects the components from abrasion and moisture.
