As a business grows, keeping track of inventory can become an unmanageable task without the use of an inventory management system. One of most low-cost and easiest methods of managing large inventories is the use of inventory tags. Inventory tags are simple attachments made from paper, plastic, metals, and some other materials that are tagged to every item in an inventory, and contain the specific details and information of that item. Inventory tags are usually sequentially numbered to keep track of each item within that inventory. Each inventory tag, irrespective of the type or application, may usually consists of some basic information, such as type of product, number of units, lot number, price, and item stock number. However, inventory tags may contain even less or more information depending on the application.
The analysts forecast the global inventory tags market to grow at a CAGR of 5.00% during the period 2017-2021.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “The latest trend gaining momentum in the market is Innovations in inventory management solutions. Inventory management has come a long way since the days of manual tagging, handling, and dispatch. Therefore, innovative solutions are being developed to ease the management and handling of large inventories.”

The adoption of technologically advanced, high-value inventory tags represents a significant opportunity for vendors to increase their profit margins in the inventory tags market.
Further, the report states that one of the major factors hindering the growth of this market is Slowdown in Chinese economy. According to the World Bank data, China is one of the biggest manufactured and retail goods consuming nations, ranking below the US in consumption value.
