About Industrial Safety Relays and Timers

Safety Relays are electromechanical switching devices that implement safety functions. When a hazard occurs, a safety relay reduces the risk to an acceptable level by initiating a safe and reliable response. Safety relays also monitor a safety system and either allows the machine to start or stop based on a command. Each safety relay is used for monitoring a specific safety function. In addition, by connecting them to other safety relays, total monitoring of a machine or plant can be achieved. A safety timer is either used to produce precise time delay or can be used to repeat an action after a certain period. Safety timers are processors that not only generate time delays but are also used as counters where these are used to count an action or event.
