About Two-wheeler ECU

An electronic control unit (ECU) is a device that controls one or more electrical systems or its subsystems in any vehicle. It is a component of the engine management system (EMS). The ECU is a programmable computer chip with pre-installed programs and collects the demands on the engine, prioritizes them, and then implements them. The demands include the position of the accelerator pedal and exhaust system requirements for the mixture composition. Torque is the key criterion for meeting these demands. The air-fuel ratio is adjusted to provide torque as economically and cleanly as possible. Moreover, the ECU also allows active driving safety systems, such as ABS and motorcycle stability control, to intervene in the engine torque. Mechanical and hydraulic systems are phasing out gradually and are being replaced with electronic or hybrid substitutes subsequently.
