About Industrial Overload Relays

Based on product, the global industrial overload relays market is divided into two segments: Thermal overloads relays, and Magnet overload relays. Thermal overload relays act as an economic electromechanical protection device for the main circuit. They offer the required protection for motors during overloads or phase failures. Thermal overload relays offer a compact starting solution when combined with contractors. Overload sensing devices are a type of heat-operated relays, where a coil heats a bimetallic strip, releasing a spring to run auxiliary contacts. These auxiliary contacts are located in series with the coil.

The analysts forecast the global industrial overload relays market to grow at a CAGR of 4.15% during the period 2018-2022.

New Report Released: – Global Industrial Overload Relays Market 2018-2022

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global industrial overload relays market: ABB, Eaton, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric, Siemens, and WEG.

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: General Electric, Sprecher+Schuh, Littelfuse, GREEGOO Electric, Finder, MTE, Riken Electric, Benshaw, Meba Electric, GWIEC Electric, Lovato Electric, Kawamura Electric, Mitsubishi Electric, Fuji Electric, Texas Instruments, Danfoss, Emera, Tsubakimoto Chain, Hubbell Industrial Controls, Struthers-Dunn, Coto Technology, and Global Zeus.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “One trend in the market is semiconductor switches as replacements for relays and fuses. Though PROFETs (protected MOSFETs) were introduced to the market long back, their wide adoption has only started recently. Currently, semiconductor accounts for the largest part of the frame control module market where current is moderate.”

According to the report, one driver in the market is preference of overload relays over fuse for motor protection. The starting current for a motor can be 3 to 6 times the normal running current, which is normal in case of motors. Motors experience high current for a time period of 20 to 50 seconds. During such overload conditions, using a fuse may have no effect on motor protection. A particular fuse that is large enough to allow the passage of the required starting current would give minimal or no protection against overheating of windings under normal running load conditions. The same case happens if a circuit breaker is used.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
