Summary

Total refining capacity of Former Soviet Union in 2017 was 8,438 mbd. The refining capacity increased from 2012 to 2017 at an AAGR of 0.9%. Furthermore, it is expected to increase till 2022 at an AAGR of 2.5%. Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Turkmenistan and Kazakhstan are the key countries in the Former Soviet Union accounting for over 93.0% of the total refining capacity of the region.

Crude distillation unit capacity in Former Soviet Union also increased from 2012 to 2017 at an AAGR of 0.9%. It is further expected to increase from 8,338mbd in 2017 at an AAGR of 2.5%. Condensate splitter unit capacity and Coking unit capacity in Former Soviet Union remained unchanged from 2012 to 2017. It is expected to remain same from 2017 to 2022.

Russia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Lithuania and Azerbaijan are the top five countries in the region in terms of catalytic crackerunit capacity. In 2017, together these five countries account for 91.5% of total catalytic cracker unit capacity in the region.
