This Certified Business Analysis Professional™ (CBAP®) course has been designed to provide intense preparation for the CBAP®certification exam. The focus is on understanding the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge®(BABOK®) v3.0, acquiring fluency in the terminology of the BABOK®, and identifying the tools and techniques that are a part of a Business Analyst’s toolkit. This Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) training entails an interactive question and answer review with a IIBA®certified instructor, discussions based on the BABOK® version 3.0 and practice tests to improve the learning process and help you gain the CBAP®credential.

Develop the following proficiencies that are the measurement criteria for the competencies required to attain CBAP® Level 3:
  • Advanced Knowledge - Skills and Knowledge have been fully developed through execution of work ranging from small well scoped work to addressing more complex, unstructured challenges or opportunities. Skills and knowledge required for the competency have become second nature.
  • Guides Practice - This is a seasoned practitioner that is sought after for their expertise and guidance in solving or addressing business challenges or opportunities.
  • Creates Rules - Actively provides insight to situations that fall within and outside of his/her domain or sphere of influence. In some cases, this will mean addressing new, unstructured business challenges or opportunities.

To earn the CBAP® certification, applicants must have:
  • Minimum 7500 hours of BA work experience aligned with BABOK® Guide in the last 10 years
  • Minimum 900 hours in four of the six knowledge areas
  • Minimum 35 hours of Professional Development in the past four years
  • Two references from a career manager, client or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) recipient
  • Signed Code of Conduct
The Exam

The CBAP® certification is achieved after appearing for the examination which is 3.5 hours long. The exam has 120 multiple choice questions. The questions are case study-based (i.e. longer cases (1-1.5 pages) of information) with multiple questions about the case. The exam assesses the candidate’s practical application of the defined competencies for this level 3 certification in the IIBA Certification Framework.

The current exam blueprint based on v3.0 of the BABOK® Guide is as follows:

  • Requirements Life Cycle Management - 15%
