Textile and Garment Industry is one of the spearhead economic sector of Vietnam, an industry which has the second export turn-over rate with export value contributing 10-15% in GDP. Currently, Vietnam is one of the 10 biggest textile and garment exporting country in the world. Even though FDI enterprises account for 25% in quantity, they contribute up to more than 60.64% in garment export turn-over in 2017 in Vietnam. In 2017, trade surplus of this industry reached about 15.5 billion USD, this has been the highest level before.
In addition, Vietnam Textile and Garment Industry makes an important turning point as exporting garment product to China market in the first time with 1 billion USD. In 2018, thanks to approved CPTPP agreement, textile and garment prospect in 2018 is expected to better than one in 2017 with the growth maintain in 2 digits.
