The value of household goods production in Turkey continued to grow in 2018. Growth was, however, only slightly above inflation. The Turkish household goods market grew marginally in real terms, driven by rising disposable incomes, while most of the increase in nominal terms was caused by surging inflation in the country, which reached 16% in 2018. Moreover, in 2018, exports of household goods rose on the back of a slump in the Turkish lira’s exchange rate.
