Summary

The Insurance Bureau (IB), under the Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC), is the government body responsible for regulating and supervising the Taiwanese insurance industry. There are no compulsory cession requirements in the Taiwanese insurance industry. The placement of non-admitted insurance is not permitted in the Taiwanese insurance industry. However, only insurers are permitted to carry out reinsurance business on a cross-border basis. 100% fronting is permitted in Taiwan.
