The controller is given a set-point from 0 to 100% of its full scale range. However, it is generally operated in the 10 to 90% of full scale where highest precision is achieved. The device then controls the rate of flow to the given set-point. MFCs either have an analog structure or a digital structure. A digital flow controller can control multiple types of fluid whereas an analog controller is restricted to the fluid for which it was adjusted.
