The company Pulsepod, is small Frisbee-shaped device houses technology, which is used to measures more than 40 observation such as crop water demand, rain, hail, canopy leaf area, microclimate, and even air pollution. The device is connected through built-in Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and cellular network. The device enables farmers to grow crops, through new tools and monitor environmental conditions. The device is integrated with sensors such as acoustic disdrometer, net radiometer, and spectrometer. The acoustic disdrometer sensor measures rainfall, through the size and number of drops, fall on Pulsepod. The net radiometer sensor is used to determine the number of sunlight plants is receiving. It measures shortwave radiation that is directly coming from the sun and longwave radiation, which is reflected back by the plants. The device information is stored in the cloud via Wi-Fi, Bluetooth or cellular, which enables farmers to access data via the Internet, for making a decision regarding watering, fertilizing, and many more.
