For instance, vivo moved fast with clear ID optical in-display fingerprint technology FS900 by Synaptics and launched two models Vivo X20 and Vivo X21 in 2018. Mi 8 was the first in the market to have n-display and face unlock IRIS scanner, both the smart sensing technology in one smartphone.

Qualcomm is providing their module only to Samsung flag-ship smartphone, so their market adoption is quite less. Egis Technology has recently entered in the market to give tough competition to Goodix and Synaptics. The in-display fingerprint sensing recorded market penetration of 2.1 percent in 2019, and this is expected to increase to 12.6 percent by 2020. With the increasing use of in-display fingerprint sensing in low and mid-range smartphones, the industry is expected mass adoption, which in turn will lead to lower sensor prices.

In 2018, the in-display sensors calculated ASP was in the range of between $11 and $15. With mass production, the ASP is expected to further fall to less than $9 by 2020. The market is expected to witnessed maximum growth of 2.2% till 2025 each year respectively.
