Analysis of Domestic Pyridine and its Downstream Pesticides

China is the largest producer and exporter of pesticide technical in the world. At present, developing compounds containing pyridine have become a popular direction in pesticide technical producers with pioneering spirits.

Pyridine, one of the fundamental elements in synthesis of the fourth generation heterocyclic pesticides, is mainly used in production of paraquat, diquat, chlorpyrifos and etc. Besides, many new varieties containing pyridine are in development and research. Rapid advances of pesticide industry in China, especially of herbicides such as paraquat and diquat, have helped the pyridine industry go on a fast track. Pyridine is an important element in the new generation of environmentally-friendly, high-efficiency and low-toxicity insecticides and herbicides. It has a broad prospect in pesticide deep processing and deserves further development.

Pyridine can be used in almost all major categories of pesticides. There are many pesticides containing pyridine in industrial production. Among the registered products with pyridine-included active ingredients in China, paraquat, chlorpyrifos, imidacloprid, diquat and nicosulfuron are the major pesticide varieties with mature market and large supply. Other developed, promising pyridine-containing pesticides are fluazinam, fluridon, fluazifop-butyl, acetamiprid, nitenpyram and diflufenican, etc.
