Turkey has witnessed new developments in its electric vehicles charging infrastructure. Three municipalities have signed a memorandum of understanding with Renault to deploy more electric vehicles and further develop the charging infrastructure. Istanbul Enerji and other two Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality associations, ISPARK (related to the car parking services) and BELBIM (related to the information technologies), are working on the installation of the required infrastructure for charging EVs in Istanbul. These initiatives will aid the growth of the wireless charging market in Turkey.

South Africa’s electric vehicle industry is growing steadily. Around 300 electric vehicles and 2,300 hybrid cars were on the roads in 2016. EVs by Nissan and BMW are already present in the country. Close to 100 Nissan Leaf and 200 BMW pure electric vehicles are present in South Africa, with over 90 charging stations. Furthermore, market giants like Tesla have announced soon launching their new models in the South African market. Also, the government is making efforts to reduce the emission rate of vehicles, with its Clean Fuel 2 initiative.
