Automated optical inspection systems are used for the inspection of PCBs. These systems allow rapid and accurate inspection of PCBs and ensure that the best product exits the production line. In addition, increasing faults and time usage in manual inspection techniques for printed circuit boards are expected to increase the use of the AOI system.

The rise in the size of the boards often ensures that manual testing is not a feasible choice these days.
