Hydrogels such as rapid self-healing gels are a network of cross-linked polymeric chains. These crosslinks can be either physical or chemical in nature. Self-healing gels exhibit a phenomenon of formation of new physical or chemical bonds to replace previously broken bonds. Moreover, these self-healing gels resemble flesh and have generated great interest in biomedical researchers over the past few years. Self-healing gels find their application in the field of drug delivery, tissue engineering, and wound healing.
