The global M&A market recorded growth of 62% in billion-dollar-plus M&A deals in 2021 with 825 such deals, compared to 508 deals of the same size in the previous year. TMT continued to be the biggest sector in terms of both M&A deals value and volume, with 12,585 deals worth $1,269.6 billion recorded in 2021. Automotive and healthcare witnessed the highest growth in deals value in 2021 at 108% and 94%, respectively, compared to the previous year. All regions except China reported an increase in both deals value and volume in 2021, compared to the previous year.
