The publisher analysed the total traffic of 4,507 online vape retailers for a year, from October 2020 to September 2021. The total online visits to websites from 83 countries have been analysed with regards to the origin and destination of the online traffic.
To identify specialist online vape retailers, Google searches in 73 countries were run for specific search terms, such as “buy e-cigarettes” or “vape shop + country” in the local language in each country as well as in English for smaller vape markets. Results from a minimum ten and maximum 40 Google pages were extracted and manually checked to identify websites that are primarily focused on the retail of vaping products. Traffic data was acquired from SimilarWeb which forms the basis of this analysis, complemented by information from the publisher's latest market database.
