Titanium dioxide, also known as TiO2, is an important inorganic chemical pigment, and is considered to be the best performing white pigment in the world. Titanium dioxide is widely used in the coating, plastic, paper, rubber, cosmetic, and prevention and chemical fiber industries.

The coatings industry is a major application area for titanium dioxide, which is used as a coating additive in construction, wood, automotive and other fields. According to the publisher's analysis, the global automotive industry development and investment growth in the construction industry have driven the expansion of the coatings industry and boosted the market demand for titanium dioxide. China is the main producer and major exporter of titanium dioxide worldwide.

In 2021, China exported 1.13116 million tons of titanium dioxide, an increase of 8.03% year-on-year, with an export value of US$3.639 billion, an increase of 54.98% year-on-year. From January to October 2022, China exported 1.11717 million tons of titanium dioxide, an increase of 11.13% year-on-year, with an export value of US$3.346 billion, an increase of 16.71% year-on-year.

In 2018-2022, the average price of China's titanium dioxide export generally shows a change trend of first decrease and then increase. In 2018-2020, the average price of China's titanium dioxide export fell from US$2.52 per kg to US$1.93 per kg. In 2021-2022, the average price of China's titanium dioxide export increased continuously. From January to October 2022, the average price of China's titanium dioxide export was US$2.86 per kg, an increase of 5.03% year-on-year.

In 2021, China exported titanium dioxide to more than one hundred and forty countries and regions around the world. The publisher's analysis, by export volume, India, Brazil, South Korea, Turkey, Vietnam, Indonesia, UAE, Malaysia, France and Thailand are the main destinations of China's titanium dioxide exports. In 2021, China exported 168,900 tons of titanium dioxide to India, accounting for 12.88% of the total export volume of titanium dioxide with an export value of US$465 million, accounting for 12.77% of the total export value.

China is the world's leading producer of titanium dioxide, and the publisher expects China's titanium dioxide exports to continue to grow from 2023-2032 as demand for titanium dioxide grows in the global market.

Methodology

Background research defines the range of products and industries, which proposes the key points of the research. Proper classification will help clients understand the industry and products in the report.

Secondhand material research is a necessary way to push the project into fast progress. The analyst always chooses the data source carefully. Most secondhand data they quote is sourced from an authority in a specific industry or public data source from governments, industrial associations, etc. For some new or niche fields, they also "double-check" data sources and logics before they show them to clients.

Primary research is the key to solve questions, which largely influence the research outputs. The analyst may use methods like mathematics, logical reasoning, scenario thinking, to confirm key data and make the data credible.

The data model is an important analysis method. Calculating through data models with different factors weights can guarantee the outputs objective.

The analyst optimizes the following methods and steps in executing research projects and also forms many special information gathering and processing methods.

1. Analyze the life cycle of the industry to understand the development phase and space.
2. Grasp the key indexes evaluating the market to position clients in the market and formulate development plans
3. Economic, political, social and cultural factors
4. Competitors like a mirror that reflects the overall market and also market differences.
5. Inside and outside the industry, upstream and downstream of the industry chain, show inner competitions
6. Proper estimation of the future is good guidance for strategic planning.
