The primary objective of this report is to provide baseline and forecast estimates for regional and global software developer populations and insight into adoption of various tools, technologies and languages. The information in this study will estimate specific developer target markets’ size in order to provide clients with an accurate gauge of the developer audience they are trying to attract. This study is intended for use by venture capitalists, software development tools vendors, server software vendors, operating system vendors, middleware vendors, and any other software manufacturer whose products target developers or who are impacted by the opinions and attitudes of software developers.
The larger goal of this survey series is to provide a resource for software vendors that will assist them in creating products that are useful, desirable and readily accepted in the marketplace.
