Hyperspectral imaging is a digital spectroscopy, which combines methods, such as NIR (near infrared), visible, and fluorescence imaging. This technique is more sensitive and accurate to find objects, identify materials, or detect processes. The HS image processes information across electromagnetic spectrum. The technique aims at obtaining each pixel of the image, which is far or near in the scene. These images are then processed to make a 3-dimensional cube for spatial and spectral analysis.

The principle of the HSI is spectral-based contrast, which is generated by using a sample image’s either reflected, or transmitted or emitted light. In the process of image capturing, multiple wavelengths are used, and each pixel in an HS image comprises a spectrum over an appropriate spectral region.
