The India Ferrocement Market is anticipated to grow at a steady pace in the forecast period, 2023-2028, owing to the growing urban population in India, and rapid increase in the need for cheap housing in metropolitan areas.

Ferrocement is a relatively novel substance made of wire mesh and cement mortar. Ferrocrete is another name for ferrocement. The building method entails shaping the necessary structure with the use of an exemplary support mesh, such as expanded metal or chicken wire mesh. Ferrocement can be used to build a range of structural shapes with relatively thin, strong, and hard surfaces, such as water tanks, boat hulls, and shell roofs.

Adoption of Ferrocement instead of White Cement

Ferrocement and thin cement-based composites, which have been around for a while, are less than 50 mm thick. While steel wire meshes or metal laths are the traditional reinforcements for these products, new reinforcement types have emerged over time with the aim of improving performance and lowering total product costs. These new reinforcement types include fiber-reinforced polymeric (FRP) reinforcements, which use high-performance fibers like carbon, Kevlar, and Spectra; new steel unidirectional reinforcing mats made with highly high strengths wires or strands; and 3D textiles or fabrics using. Additionally, the cement matrix has significantly improved in terms of its flowability and casting ease in the fresh state, as well as its compressive strength and durability properties in the hardened state, leading to new qualifications like high strength or high performance, ultra-high strength or high performance, self-consolidating and self-compacting, etc.

Increasing Urbanization

The urbanization is taking place in the country at a rapid pace. Other businesses and sectors, including residential, commercial, industrial, maritime, etc., are growing along with the rate of urbanization. In order to make urban areas, such as cities and towns, more effective engines of economic growth and play a vital role in economic transformation and national development, India has advised reforming their urban policies, practices, and regulations. As towns and cities continue to develop, more parks, outdoor theaters, and gardens are being built. Ferrocement is a wonderful material for these types of buildings.

Increasing Use of Renewable Power Generation

Since rising urbanization, population growth, and economic development are pushing up electricity consumption, and governments, across India so to enhance access to inexpensive energy, governments are increasing their usage of renewable energy. Solar panels have been produced using ferrocement. The lowering cost of solar energy systems, which enables the country to move ahead to sustainable and low-carbon alternatives, is also helping India to adopt renewable resources. More blackouts also create opportunities for rooftop solar growth and, by extension, for the market players in ferrocement as industrial and residential demand rises and costs decline. Therefore, it is anticipated that demand for Ferrocement will rise in the region over the next few years as efforts are made to make the area dependent on renewable energy sources like solar, biogas, etc.
