Consumer appliances in Germany continued to record both positive retail volume and current value growth in 2017, albeit slightly slower than the review period averages. Ongoing maturity and saturation continued to slow volume sales, particularly of products with already high penetration, such as dishwashers, home laundry appliances and refrigeration appliances. Even within small appliances, sales were often limited to replacement purchases due to the good quality of existing products.
