Disinfectant manufacturers produce disinfectant products for home and industrial use. As a result, the industry is affected by both the financial stability of downstream consumers (e.g. households) and institutional customers such as hospitals, accommodation companies, janitorial service providers and restaurants. Although institutional customers are relatively inflexible in their demand for disinfectants, consumers often switch to less-costly alternatives when economic conditions are tight.
