For rent: Financial pressure will push buyers with lower income out of the traditional housing market

Land leasing companies rent land for residential or commercial use, often for manufactured homes. Leasers range from individuals with small plots to large companies that manage entire communities. Manufactured homes offer a more affordable alternative to traditional on-site housing. In the past five years, land leasing revenue grew at a CAGR of 2% but will fall 5.2% to $17.7 billion in 2023. Profit remains high at 50.3% of revenue.

Operators in this industry act as lessors of real estate that does not include permanent buildings; such real estate includes manufactured home, including mobile home, sites, vacant lots and grazing land. Manufactured and mobile home sites are residential developments for the placement of detached, single-family manufactured homes that are produced off-site. These are then installed within the community on a residential site that is leased by the homeowner.

This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
