Darin Detwiler Assistant Dean and Professor, Northeastern University, USA. Darin Detwiler, LP.D., M.A.Ed.: Assistant Dean at NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY'S COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES and the Lead Faculty of the MS: Regulatory Affairs of Food and Food Industries. As a Professor of food regulatory policy, he has specialized in food safety, global economics of food and agriculture, Blockchain, and food authenticity.

An internationally recognized and respected food policy and technology expert with over 25 years' experience in shaping federal food policy, consulting with corporations, and contributing thought leadership to industry events and publications. Detwiler advises industry, NGOs, and government agencies, addressing food safety and authenticity issues in the U.S. and abroad. In 2018, Detwiler received the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR FOOD PROTECTION (IAFP) Distinguished Service Award (Sponsored by Food Safety Magazine.)

Over the past 25 years, Detwiler has consulted with the US DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE in strengthening food safety policies, particularly in the areas of consumer education, product labeling, and their pathogen reduction program. In addition to serving in various educational and advisory capacities, his committee work includes appointments to two terms as a member of the National Advisory Committee on Meat and Poultry Inspection (NACMPI) for the USDA, where his work improved standards and policies related to risk-based sampling. Detwiler's collaboration with the FOOD AND DRUG ADMINISTRATION includes stakeholder advisory groups, FSMA pre-implementation, and on the "New Era of Smarter Food Safety.� He also speaks at FDA events and training sessions.

Detwiler holds degrees in history, social studies and education from WESTERN WASHINGTON UNIVERSITY, a Master of Arts and Education from the UNIVERSITY OF PHOENIX, and a Doctorate in Law and Policy from NORTHEASTERN UNIVERSITY'S COLLEGE OF PROFESSIONAL STUDIES.
