The performance of the industry depends on the popularity of film releases in a given year, the number of releases, DVD and Blu-ray sales, and demand from domestic and international TV broadcasters and VOD platforms. The success of a number of film releases and rising demand from video-on-demand (VOD) platforms has supported the industry.

This industry consists of firms that distribute films to cinemas, TV networks and other exhibitors.
