Bright Minds: Growing Per Capita Disposable Income Will Fuel the Industry's Recovery

Early childhood learning centers provide essential skill and education courses for children between the ages of about two and five years old. Revenue growth was positive pre-COVID-19, but forced closures led to revenue declines and a constriction in enrollment as families faced unemployment and had less disposable income. Simultaneously, the number of children aged nine and younger had declined to motivate a contraction in the customer base. Post-COVID-19 recovery did bring children back to learning. Incomes of wealthy individuals and per capita disposable income rebounded, giving households the funds to spend on discretionary learning programs, allowing average center profit to remain steady. Despite COVID-19 setbacks, industry-wide revenue has been growing at a CAGR of 1.1% over the past five years and is expected to total $16.1 billion in 2023, when revenue will jump by an estimated 1.6%. Establishments in this industry, both public and private, primarily provide basic preparatory education courses for children aged two years to those reaching the compulsory school-entry age. This industry excludes establishments that primarily service adults and provide child-teaching services. This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
