New Report Released: – Global Readymix Concrete Market 2017-2021

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global readymix concrete market: CEMEX, Heidelberg Cement, LafargeHolcim, Sika, and Vicat.

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: ACC, BURNCO, Buzzi Unicem, Barney & Dickenson, China ACM, China Resources Cement Holdings, Colas, CRH, Dillon Brothers Ready Mix Concrete, EUROCEMENT, Livingston’s Concrete, Martin Marietta Materials, Neptune Readymix Concrete, PT. SCG Readymix Indonesia, RDC Concrete, RMC Readymix, R.W. Sidley, U.S. Concrete, UltraTech Cement, Vulcan Materials Company, and Votorantim Cimentos.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “One trend in market is adoption of prefabricated concrete structures. Prefabrication is a technique of assembling components of the structure at the manufacturing site and transporting the complete assemblies to the construction site where it is located. Beams, columns, walls, staircases, and floor slabs are some of the structures that can be prefabricated. Prefabrication is a combination of good design and the use of modern high-performance components with quality controlled manufacturing procedures. The process is carried out in two stages, i.e., manufacturing of the components at a place other than the final location and the placement of the same in the construction. Prefabricated buildings have great fire ratings and are versatile. This concrete used for constructing these prefabricated buildings are more durable and optimized to be suitable for a specific application.”

According to the report, one driver in market is increasing urbanization and rising disposable income. Ongoing economic development in Malaysia, India, Vietnam, China, Qatar, and other emerging economies has led to urbanization and an increase in the disposable income of consumers, thereby increasing their purchasing power. In addition, population growth, rapid modernization, and changing lifestyle preferences have increased the need for new buildings and infrastructure. China and India, the two most populous countries and the major construction markets are witnessing a growth in population and rise in per capita income. The World Bank estimated that the population of China grew from 1.364 billion in 2014 to 1.371 billion in 2015, and the per capita income of individuals in the country grew from $7,683.502 in 2014 to $8,027.7 in 2015. Similarly, in India, the population grew from 1.295 billion in 2014 to 1.311 billion in 2015, and the per capita income of individuals in India grew from $1,576.818 in 2014 to $1,598.259 in 2015. This will augment the growth of construction market in APAC as more than 37.8 million units of new houses will be developed during the forecast period. Whereas, the global residential construction is expected to increase to more than 62 million units during the forecast period. The need for new houses will also increase due to the migration of individuals from rural areas to urban areas.

Further, the report states that one challenge in market is fluctuating oil price in Middle East. The fluctuations in the crude oil prices have a severe effect on the prices of the admixtures, obtained from oil, used in ready-mix concrete, thereby affecting the cost of the ready-mix concrete. According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), in 2010, the price of Brent crude oil was around $82 per barrel, but there was an increase in the price during 2012 by nearly 25%. But in subsequent years, the price of crude oil per barrel decreased, and the price was reduced by 70% in 2016. The fluctuation in the prices of crude oil can negatively impact the usage of ready-mix concrete, and may also affect the economic conditions of the major oil-producing countries, thereby hampering the investments in infrastructure development. Despite the anticipated economic uncertainties due to fluctuating crude oil prices, and the reduced investments in the construction market in 2016, Saudi Arabia and other countries in the Middle East are expected to invest in infrastructure development during the forecast period.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
