About Heat Exchanger

A heat exchanger is a mechanical device that transfers thermal energy from one medium to another. The media are generally separated by a partition to avoid contact between each other. They incorporate fins or corrugations to increase the surface area for enhancing the heat exchange process. Heat exchangers are widely used in industrial applications such as refrigeration, air conditioning, sewage treatment, and natural gas processing. The classic internal combustion engine is the best example of a heat exchange. The engine coolant flows in a circular motion through the radiator coils and air flows past these coils to cool the engine.

The analysts forecast the global heat exchanger market to grow at a CAGR of 6.46% during the period 2017-2021.

New Report Released: – Global Heat Exchanger Market 2017-2021

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global heat exchanger market: Alfa Laval, Doosan Heavy Industries & Construction, Kelvion, SPX FLOW, and Xylem.

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: Shanghai Liancheng, FUNKE Wärmeaustauscher Apparatebau, HISAKA WORKS, IHI, The Japan Steel Works, Larsen & Toubro, Lanzhou LS Heat Exchange Equipment, Ormandy, THT Heat Transfer Technology, Dover, and Thermowave.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “One trend in market is growth in petrochemical and chemical industry in India. Chemical manufacturing requires complex series of processes from cooling, condensing, and heating for separation and evaporation in the industry. All these applications need a heat exchanger system. The Indian petrochemical and chemical industry has been growing tremendously due to increased demand from the process, manufacturing, and agricultural Industries. The requirement for heat exchangers in these plants is diverse, transferring fluids from one process to another in the chemical industry.”

According to the report, one driver in market is augmentation of coal capacities and revival of nuclear power plants in Japan. Japan is expected to invest heavily in coal power infrastructure during the forecast period. The Environmental Ministry of Japan announced in February 2016 that the country plans to build 43 coal-fired power stations in the next 12 years. Currently, the country has 90 coal-fired power plants with a total capacity of 40 GW. The addition of 43 coal-fired power plants by the end of 2028 is expected to increase power capacity to 61 GW. Coal is the cheapest alternative for generating electricity.

Further, the report states that one challenge in market is F-gas regulations. In November 2012, the European Commission imposed certain changes regarding the use of F-gas in the form of the recent F-gas regulations. HFCs, which are the most common form of F-gases, are used as a heat exchanging medium rather than as a refrigerant in air conditioners and heat pump equipment. The use of HFC gases has been banned in many applications. Global warming is harmful to the environment. It is mainly caused by CO₂ emissions arising from the power plants that use fossil fuels. The energy sector accounts for nearly 40% of the global CO₂ emissions.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
