The calcium hydroxide (molecular formula Ca(OH)2) is derived from lime. Lime is a product derived from limestone through an industrial process. Lime has two product forms: Hydrated lime and quicklime. Hydrated lime has many names such as calcium hydroxide, calcium hydrate, caustic lime, hydrated lime, slaked lime, builders' lime, cal, or pickling lime.
