About Submersible Pump

Submersible pumps are modified standard pumps used for draining liquid. These pumps transfer the liquid from one place to another with a special ability to work with less energy. The pumps remain submerged inside the liquid. Submersible pumps are a special type of centrifugal pumps, which pull in and force out water by allowing a radical flow along their rotating axis to the delivery pipe. These pumps find major applications in sectors where there is a continuous requirement for liquid flow.

The analysts forecast the global submersible pump market to grow at a CAGR of 5.98% during the period 2017-2021.

New Report Released: - Global Submersible Pump Market 2017-2021

The author of the report recognizes the following companies as the key players in the global submersible pump market: Baker Hughes, General Electric (GE), Grundfos, Halliburton, and Schlumberger.

Other Prominent Vendors in the market are: Borets, Ebara, Falcon Pumps, Flowserve, Kirloskar Brothers, KSB, Lishen Pump, Pentair, Ruhrpumpen, Shengli Pump, Sulzer, The Weir Group, Walrus America, WILO SE, and Xylem.

Commenting on the report, an analyst from the research team said: “One trend in the market is emergence of renewable energy submersible pumps. Renewable energy submersible pumps can ideally reduce the cost of submersible pumps to zero. These pumps produce maximum efficiency in transporting water in remote areas where there is a scarcity of power.”

According to the report, one driver in the market is increased preference for submersible pumps over jet pumps. Submersible pumps and jet pumps perform the same functions. However, the submersible pumps stand to be more efficient. Unlike jet pumps, submersible pumps use lesser energy to operate. Both, the jet pumps and submersible pumps perform the same function of extracting liquids to the surface. However, submersible pumps are preferred as they do not need suction techniques that are required by jet pumps to pull the liquid. In fact, submersible pumps use direct water pressure to bring the water to the surface.

Further, the report states that one challenge in the market is monitoring and detection of system failure. Submersible pumps are immersed in water, which improves their efficiency. However, this also impacts the machine parts and reduces its lifespan. The pumps are made air tight with the help of seals, but these seals can get corroded with time. This may cause a major issue leading to water leakage. The issue becomes unmanageable because the water leakage cannot be detected at an early stage as the pump remains immersed in water. In addition, seals add to the difficulty during the repairing process.

The study was conducted using an objective combination of primary and secondary information including inputs from key participants in the industry. The report contains a comprehensive market and vendor landscape in addition to a SWOT analysis of the key vendors.
