Canned foods are processed food products such as fruits, vegetables, and others that are stored in airtight metal containers, which are sterilized using heat. The process of canning helps in preserving the quality of food products and preventing food spoilage, which subsequently increases their shelf life. The shelf life of canned food products ranges from one to five years. Due to the long shelf life, canned food can also be stored for use in emergency situations that may arise due to adverse weather conditions.
