About Nanosilica

Nanosilica, a mesoporous form of silica, is the latest development in the field of nanotechnology. Nanosilica is mainly of three types: P-type or porous nanosilica, S-type, or spherical nanosilica, and type 3 nanosilica. It has applications as fillers in plastics and polymers and as reinforcing agents in rubber and concrete mixtures. It provides excellent toughness, strength, and reduced setting time. Its non-toxicity and biodegradability make it useful in the pharmaceutical industry, for drug delivery and therapeutics. Under electronics segment, it is used to make insulators due to its low thermal conductivity.
