Summary

Connected care technologies play an important role in disease prevention, but are still not used as widely as they should be. Philips’ second Future Health Index study surveyed 33,000 participants in 19 countries to compare perceptions and experiences of healthcare users across three areas - access to care, integration of health systems and adoption of connected care technologies.

Connected care technologies are critical for improving the prevention of medical issues but are not being fully capitalized according to findings from Philips Healthcare’s second annual Future Health Index (FHI). Nearly three quarters of healthcare professionals (73%) and the general population (72%) who were polled in this global survey agreed that connected care technology is important but nearly as many healthcare professionals (63%) said the technology is currently infrequently used.
