From governments to enterprises, China has demonstrated its commitment to 5G communications technology, hoping to play a more significant role in the next round of competition. Since 2014, China has launched a slew of policies to support 5G development, enabling the technology to take a big leap forward. In the industrial sector, China's top three telecoms, China Telecom, China Unicom, and China Mobile, have joined hands with Huawei and ZTE, two leading 5G equipment manufacturers in China, and several international vendors to speed up 5G field trials which have been scheduled to take place between 2017 and 2019. Through these trials, China hopes to accelerate the development of 5G technology and the deployment of 5G infrastructure.
