European paints & coatings market is expected to reach USD 39,707.05 million by 2023, at an estimated CAGR of 3.77% during 2018-2023. Architectural Sector Dominates the Demand

In 2018, in terms of revenue, the architectural segment is estimated to dominate the European market. The architectural segment is also expected to witness the highest CAGR of 4.29% in revenue, during the forecast period. Paints and coatings are used in the exterior and the interior parts of houses, offices, and buildings to give them an aesthetic look, and also to protect the walls and fundamental structures. The construction industry in Europe has been steadily coming in track since 2014. Construction output in the last four years from 2014 to 2017 has increased by a total of 9%. A further increase of 6% can be expected in the 19 EUROCONSTRUCT member states by 2020. Construction demand is expected to be strongest in Hungary, the second smallest market in the EUROCONSTRUCT area, followed by Ireland, Sweden, and Poland. Hungary is expected to register the highest growth rates for the next three years through 2020. Hence. Germany to Lead the Market in the European Region

Germany is the largest consumer of paints & coatings in Europe. In the country, the residential sector is expected to grow by 7% in 2017. The presence of large number of refugees and asylum seekers in the country and the presence of low interest rates are expected to drive the demand for residential construction during the forecast period. According to industry experts, the demand for new houses is estimated to be around 350,000 per year until 2020, which is expected to boost the construction sector.
