Tomatoes are the most widely grown vegetables in Russia, closely followed by cabbages. Russian farmers are increasingly adopting protected cultivation of vegetables. In 2019, the Russian government is set to spend RUB 240 million (USD 3.78 million) in subsidies for vegetable cultivation.
