World textile and clothing trade increased to a record high of US$807 bn in 2018, following a rise in the previous year. The world's biggest exporter of textiles in 2018 was China, followed by the EU and India. China was also the world's biggest exporter of clothing, followed by the EU and India. Meanwhile, the EU was the world's biggest textile importer, followed by the USA and China. The EU was also the world's biggest clothing importer, followed by the USA and Japan.
