The Europe Software Defined Radio (SDR) Market is expected to witness market growth of 8.6% CAGR during the forecast period (2019-2025).

The SDR market's development from analog to digital has guided market growth for SDRs. Due to the development of digital electronics, the radio market and the communications technologies have advanced significantly in recent years. Although the term software defined radio is not new in the industry, there have been significant advances in both technology and applications within the software defined radio. SDR is nothing more than a form of radio communication system where communication is carried out using the software on the personal computer or on the embedded system instead of implementing hardware like detectors, amplifiers, modulators, mixers, filters, demodulators and others.

A simple SDR system consists of a computer equipped with some type of RF front end, which is succeeded by an analog-to-digital converter device like sound card. A significant amount of signal processing is performed in traditional radio systems in single-use hardware or electronic circuits, whereas in SDR, signal processing is turned over to the general-purpose processor. This design produces a radio that is able to receive and transmit various radio waveforms based solely on the software used. SDR systems have flexible functionality which allows them to be re-configured or can also be modified by upgrading the software if necessary. This has enabled the cost of such devices to be high altogether. Due to the integration of those systems through defense and commercial applications, the SDR market is evolving at a significant rate over the forecast period.
