Reverse osmosis is a process of removing impurities and contaminants from unfiltered water by using a partially permeable membrane. The water moves from the high-pressure area or a more concentrated area of the RO membrane to the less concentrated side. The fresh and concentrated waters generated in the end are called permeate and brine, respectively.

The report also claims that around 780 million individuals worldwide don’t have access to safe or clean drinking water. Another water-borne disease, cholera, is responsible for around 21000 to 143000 deaths per year. Typhoid, is also a life-threatening water-borne disease that spreads through impure or contaminated food and water causes around 128,000 to 161,000 deaths per year and makes around 11-20 million people sick.
