Cattle which are raised for meat production are known as Beef cattle. There are three main stages for beef production: cow-calf operations, feedlot operations and background.

Cow-calf operation is the initial stage which is designed specifically to produce offspring, and then calves are sent to a feedlot, known as feeder cattle, the motive being to fatten the animals.

The main goal of these cattle is meat production, leather goods and by-products of beef are also used in insulin, candy, cosmetics, shampoo as well as inhalers.
