Up to Speed: Secrets of Reducing Time to Proficiency - Webinar (Recorded)

  • Webinar

  • 60 Minutes
  • February 2021
  • NetZealous LLC
  • ID: 5241556
Overview:

Up to Speed is based on the Learning Path methodology that applies the best of process improvement, accelerated learning, and change management techniques to reduce time to proficiency.

The Learning Path Methodology is driven by three key learning principles. First, learning is a process and not an event. Learning goes well beyond what happens in the classroom. Second, knowing and doing are not the same thing. Third, training should be by design, not by accident. Applying these principles change the way an organization addresses and builds training in a way that is more effective and consistent.

The first part of this webinar deals with proficiency. Proficiency is a measure of performance. The start of every Learning Path initiative begins with defining proficiency and measuring current time to proficiency. This enables directing all learning activities to achieve the goal of becoming proficient in the least amount of time possible.

The second part of this webinar covers mapping and upgrading Learning Paths. A Learning Path is the series of learning activities that go from day one to proficiency. These activities include formal training, practice, experience and more. A Learning Path initiative maps out the current Learning Path and then applies the best of accelerated learning and change management.

Why you should Attend:

Every minute employees are less than 100% proficient has a significant and measurable financial impact on every organization. The impact can be seen and measured in terms of lower sales, decreased productivity, more accidents, higher turnover, and more.

This is an issue that every senior executive is concerned about, and it's training and human resources role to come up with a solution. Most organizations don't have an effective way to define and measure proficiency and time to proficiency. As a result, they don't have a way to make a difference.

Also, without a robust proficiency definition, organizations usually don't structure training all the way to proficiency but rather stop when the formal workshop or elearning training ends. This misses all the informal and on-the-job training that accounts for 70 to 80% of all learning.
