Overview:

The recent pandemic has re-enforced the need to adjust or even recreate strategic business plans. While this sounds exciting, and it is, it cannot be done in a hurry or just by talking about thoughts and ideas. Strategic planning is a significant exercise for all organizations and requires discipline, creativity, and dedication.

Strategic planning impacts all levels of the organization and all employees in one way or another. Many of us will have the opportunity to participate in planning sessions or perhaps even lead the development of a new strategic business plan.

This Strategic Planning Conference, consisting of four separate sessions, will help prepare participants for that exercise, whether you lead or just contribute, or even if you want to be prepared for the next level of management, these three sessions can help you excel at strategic planning.

Participants will leave the course with a better and deeper understanding of strategic planning processes, from objective setting, to risk assessment, to strategic plan development and implementation.

Why you should Attend:

Emerging from the Pandemic many companies will be creating new business strategies. We can either let other people do the heavy lifting or we can support and even lead those efforts. Before we engage though we should ensure that we understand strategy, strategic risk, strategic risk management and how to develop strategic plans.

To that end, we developed this conference! Attendees will be able to gain different perspectives of strategic risk and strategic planning. Whether there is a need for complete restructuring of a strategic plan or just some re-tweaking, information gained in these sessions will help complete the task. Don't be caught flat-footed as economic recovery gains strength. Better to be prepared for the opportunities that will arise.

Areas Covered in the Session:

Session 1:
  • This first webinar focuses on understanding strategy, the role that objectives play in strategic planning, what the benefits and challenges are, the key steps required in strategic planning and introduce the group to 5 strategic planning models.

Session 2:
  • Here, we will delve deeper into the different Strategic Models, explore strategic risk and be able to complete a strategic risk assessment.

Session 3 and 4:
  • Finally, we will put together our knowledge from the first two session and review the construction of a strategic business plan, the steps required to ensure its validity, approval and implementation, and how best to update or change the strategic business plan when required.
  • We will also discuss how best to share the plan with leadership and employees so that the organization is motivated to obtain its goals.
