Mining, manufacturing and utilities activities contributed 31.3% to the gross value added (GVA) in 2021, followed by financial intermediation, real estate and business activities (15.9%) and wholesale, retail and hotels (10.7%). These sectors are expected to grow by 5.9%, 8.3% and 7.1%, respectively, in 2022.

Beijing, Shanghai, Jiangsu and Guangdong are major cities of China which accounted for 11.8% of total China’s GDP and 5.7% of total population in 2021
