This edition of the Industrial Bioprocessing TOE features information on the use of carbon dioxide mineralization technology for generating carbonate materials that can be used for synthesis of aggregates in the construction industry, development of pilot scale systems for generating renewable methanol using hydrogenation technology, and the integration of a solvent absorption-based carbon capture systems with co-polymerization and other chemical pathways for the synthesis of fertilizers and plastics. The TOE also features information on the use of vertical seaweed biomass production systems for manufacturing bio-plastics, biofuels, and cosmeceuticals, It also features information on the development of microalgae production systems, which require less water and energy as compared to conventional microalgae production systems.

The TOE also focuses on innovations associated with the development of environment friendly exothermic oxidation processes for the conversion of livestock waste into nutrient-rich fertilizers, and the use of wet chemical-based seed treatment processes to aid the seeds to adapt to the saline conditions in the soil. The TOE also provides insights on the growth of drought resistant cactus for production of fuels.

The Industrial Bioprocessing TOE provides intelligence on technologies, processes and strategic insights of industries involving bioprocessing, including innovations in the development and production of chemicals, pharmaceuticals, nutraceuticals, alternative fuels, chemical feedstocks, food and beverages, and consumer products.
