All organizations in some form or another manage suppliers. New suppliers are engaged for new products or services; existing suppliers continue to receive orders and contracts. The process of managing suppliers has been around for as long as companies have been issuing purchase orders and contracts.

Over the past few decades as the market place for manufacturing and selling goods and services has expanded globally, so too has the marketplace to engage suppliers.

In this global supplier environment, the efforts to manage suppliers have grown exponentially.

These efforts include finding capable suppliers, ensuring suppliers meet the contracted requirements, and taking action when problems occur, to name just a few. All too often, organizations assign the tasks of managing suppliers across several functions such as Purchasing, Quality, and Inspection.

While there is expertise in each of the functions engaging with the suppliers; if the supplier management efforts are not coordinated, the actions may not align with the goals and objectives of the organization as a whole and even conflict across the functions.

In this webinar, we will overview the Supplier Life Cycle Management process: what is it, what are the phases / stages of supplier life cycle management.

With the foundation of Supplier Life Cycle Management defined, we will review a few tools and techniques that can be used at each phase / stage to enhance your perspectives on the process.

Why you should Attend

In the ever-changing global marketplace, the supply chain is growing; not only in its length but also in its breadth. The number of suppliers an organization is working with is expanding at a fast pace.

Managing suppliers can be overwhelming as resources, personnel, time, and budgets, are limited. Managing suppliers is not a single process for a single function, such as Purchasing or Quality.

From the time an organization engages with a supplier for quoting, through product receipt, and on throughout the relationship with a supplier, the organization is participating in the supplier life cycle management.

Supplier Life Cycle Management is more than a procedure; it’s a system of activities to manage not only suppliers, but also your internal resources.

Supplier Life Cycle Management is a cross-functional team system. Whether your organization is a small business or a multi-national enterprise, there are benefits to defining the activities and actions of managing suppliers in terms of supplier life cycle management.

This webinar will provide an overview of strategies and tools to develop and implement to an effective supplier life cycle management system.
