High power: Exports will surge as the dollar depreciates
Prime mover generator sets manufacturers make a variety of products that work to combine an electrical generator with an engine or prime mover. As economic growth boosted corporate profit in the years immediately preceding COVID-19, businesses had more money to spend on new projects, so nonresidential construction soared. Higher nonresidential construction meant businesses needed generators for their new buildings, raising demand for prime mover generator sets and increasing revenue for the industry. As the pandemic hit, businesses were shut down, so demand for manufactured products from companies plunged. Since industrial production declined, manufacturers scaled down their operations, so the need for prime mover generator sets for machinery plunged, causing revenue to tank in 2020.
This industry manufactures prime mover generator sets, integral horsepower motors and fractional horsepower motors. These products combine an electrical generator with an engine, or prime mover to produce electrical power. These products are used to supply electrical power in places where utility power is not available. This industry does not include steam and hydraulic turbine sets.
This report covers the scope, size, disposition and growth of the industry including the key sensitivities and success factors. Also included are five year industry forecasts, growth rates and an analysis of the industry key players and their market shares.
