A lawn mower, also known as a mower or grass cutter, is a machine that cuts grass to an even height using one or more spinning blades. The cut grass height may be fixed by the mower's design, but it is usually variable by the operator, either by a single master lever or a nut and bolt on each of the machine's wheels. The blades may be operated by manual force, or the machine may include a plug-in electric motor or battery-powered. Lawn mower blades come in two different designs. Rotary mowers have a single blade that rotates around a single vertical axis, whereas cylinder or reel mowers have a cutting bar and multiple blade assembly that rotates around a single horizontal axis.
